People often ask us, how does AtmosFX find the inspiration for new digital decoration innovations?

It’s simple. We get by with a little help from our friends.

The AtmosFX community has taught us that when you provide new tools to a bunch of creative people, you’ll always be amazed with the results. Digital decorating fans are continually inspiring our team with incredible feats of digital decorating goodness. Because a little inspiration goes a long way, the AtmosFAN of the Week program was launched in September 2015 to shine a spotlight on our favorite decorators. We've immortalized these triumphs in our AtmosFAN Hall of Fame, to further inspire other decorators to dream up the Next Big Thing in digital decorating.

Are you ready to claim your place in the AtmosFAN Hall of Fame? We’re accepting pictures and videos from around the world, in search of the next digital decorating superstar. Click the button below to submit your entry today!

AtmosFAN Travels Back in Time to Ancient Egypt

April 28, 2021 — Since it is Halfway to Halloween, it makes sense to travel halfway around the world to Egypt for a truly elaborate Halloween display. Sure, the true location of this masterpiece is Pacifica, Calif., where Fraidy Zone makes her home. This incredibly immersive display takes you back to the times of pharaohs, curses, sphinxes and … mummies. But once you venture there, who knows if you’ll ever make it back?!

The Healing Nature of AtmosFAN’s Halloween Display

April 14, 2021 — If you’ve been following AtmosFANs of the Week, you’ll recognize the name Brandon Kootnekoff. He’s been entertaining his neighborhood in Grand Forks, British Columbia, with his Halloween displays for years. At the time, one of the things that really stood out was that Brandon wrote his own spooky music to accompany his detailed Halloween displays. What we didn’t know was that Brandon is recovering from a brain injury, and his music and Halloween displays are one of the tools he uses to recover. Not only is his Halloween display good for his community, but it is good for Brandon’s recovery.

Spring has Sprung with AtmosFAN’s Colorful Easter Display

March 31, 2021 — How do you know it is Spring? While some might look for tulips and lilies to appear in the yard, we know a much more reliable indicator is when the Easter inflatables begin to sprout. By that measure, Easter is in full bloom in Boston, as we can see from this photo sent to us by Chris Hugenberger. He’s done a great job playfully combining inflatables, color lights and the Hoppy Easter Digital Decoration Collection in two different places.

Celebrate March 17 in Style with These AtmosFANs

March 17, 2021 — What do YOU find at the end of the rainbow? A Pot O’ Gold is so old school! When we follow the rainbow to its end, we invariably find incredible digital decoration displays created by genius AtmosFANs! To commemorate today, St. Patrick’s Day, we thought we’d collect a few spirited digital decoration displays that celebrate the luck o’ the Irish.

AtmosFAN Gives son a Birthday Wish He’ll Never Forget

March 3, 2021 — We love all types of window projections – but the ones we are truly suckers for? When people project INTO their house! This week, Dustin Koehler of Austin, Texas, answered our wish. But more importantly, he answered his four-year-old’s birthday wish. Check out this video we received from Dustin – we guarantee it will make you smile!

AtmosFAN Celebrates Mardi Gras in Style

February 17, 2021 — The Mardi Gras festivities in New Orleans this year were yet another sad casualty of the pandemic – gone were the lively crowds, beads, parades, music and other blissful eccentricities that are so unique to the city. But to no one’s surprise, nothing can keep those residents down. It was also no surprise to us that longtime AtmosFAN and New Orleans resident Zach Breaux was one of the many Lousianans who stepped in to keep Mardi Gras spirit alive.

Zombie Outbreak Captured by Crafty AtmosFAN

February 3, 2021 — This week, we set aside Valentine’s Day for a moment, and look back to the previous Halloween. We want to feast on this video we received from Caboolture, Queensland, Australia. Sent to us by Darcelle Lee, this terrific zombie apocalypse scene just sends our hearts racing!

AtmosFAN Builds a Masterful Pumpkin Patch

January 20, 2021 — It has been awhile since we’ve featured a Halloween display as the AtmosFAN of Week. And given that The Big Day is only 284 days away (not that we’re counting), we thought it was about time to pay proper respect to someone who did Halloween right. And that would be Bob Wexler of Toluca Lake, Calif. He has created a visually stunning pumpkin patch that is an absolutely masterpiece!

We Love Christmas Villages, and so do These AtmosFANs

January 6, 2021 — What’s the one thing better than Thanksgiving leftovers? Christmas leftovers, of course! Thanks to so many creative AtmosFANs who have sent us their photos and videos, we’ll be feasting for months. For the first course, we bring you three unique Christmas Villages from three different AtmoFANs.

Three AtmosFAN Christmas Displays, Each Just a Little Bit Different

December 23, 2020 — How do YOU celebrate the Christmas season? Everyone does it just a little bit differently – and we are certain that is exactly the right way. This week we feature three Christmas digital decoration displays that are like stocking-stuffers – smaller, clever and absolutely unique!

Aussie AtmosFAN Dreaming of a Bright Christmas

December 16, 2020 — Recently, we highlighted some AtmosFANs who have done the small things to create spectacular holiday celebrations. This week, we’re going straight to the spectacular. And to Australia, no less! Mark Tucker of Erskine Park, New South Wales, has put together a mind-blowingly elaborate Christmas decoration display that is so bright, and so big, we think we might be seeing some of its excess glow here on the other side of the earth.

Three AtmosFANs Build Three Cool Displays

December 9, 2020 — Even though we are now deep into the holiday season, we are always looking for one more cool way to add a decoration to our winter holiday display. And if one is good, three is always better! Here are three holiday decorations that, each in their own way, are great holiday creations that can instantly make your holiday decoration display even better – indoors or out.

AtmosFAN Creates Easy (and Versatile) Holiday Wreath

December 2, 2020 — This time of year, we often find ourselves scrolling through some of Facebook’s community groups looking for yet another clever idea we might be able to deploy at home. In this case, we were smitten by an incredibly simple holiday wreath spotted on the AtmosFX Decorating Community, posted by Deborah Birabent of Ontario, California. It is amazing how dramatically she changes her doorstep with this easy-to-make wreath, which she created in no time.

The Long & Short of Two AtmosFANs’ Displays

November 25, 2020 — When we say that you can project AtmosFX Digital Decorations just about anywhere, large or small, we mean it! As proof of that, we bring you Jeff Prah and Frans van Hoesel. They don’t know each other – they don’t even live on the same continent. But they have definitively covered the spectrum when it comes to their Halloween decoration displays. Jeff went big. Frans went small. And both look fantastic!

AtmosFAN’s Detailed Display Stays Up All Year

November 19, 2020 — It was only one week ago when we lamented that few people choose to display their Halloween decorations year-round. Well, as soon as we say that, we learn of Kelly Wheelis, of Surprise, Arizona. It’s easy to see why she likes to showcase her Halloween display all year – it’s an endlessly detailed menagerie of all-things-spooky that just screams “Don’t put me away!”

AtmosFAN Builds Comprehensive – and Tidy – Halloween Display

November 11, 2020 — If we had our way, Halloween decorations would be a year-round thing. But for those who prefer to dismantle their Halloween displays (presumably to celebrate something else), we give you Matt Lawson and family. By adding just the right amount of props and digital decorations, they have created a simple, yet comprehensive, Halloween decoration display that covers their entire home … and can still be stored in a small closet!

AtmosFAN’s Pumpkin Patch is a Feast for the Eyes

November 5, 2020 — This time of year, we’ve got pumpkin not only on the brain, but also on the palate – pumpkin pie, pumpkin lattes, pumpkin spice Twinkies, pumpkin pie Kit Kats, you name it. It seems like just about everyone these days can’t get enough of pumpkins. We also know we can’t get enough of the pumpkin patch Ryan Hughes constructed at his Glen Ridge, New Jersey, home. This visual feast is decidedly pumpkin forward, and we understand exactly why his neighbors have devoured it up.

Three Quick & Easy Decoration Displays that are AtmosFAN-worthy

October 28, 2020 — With just a couple of days to go before Halloween, we thought we’d do something a little different. Instead of showcasing giant Halloween masterpieces, we thought we’d showcase a few great examples of quick and easy things anyone can do to radically improve their Halloween celebration.

AtmosFAN’s Ode to Halloween – A Visual Feast

October 19, 2020 — Sometimes we like playing “I Spy” when we receive a video submission from a particularly clever AtmosFAN – can we find all the projectors? By our count, Christopher Kucan deployed a total of eight projectors at his Huntley, Illinois, home.

AtmosFAN Creates Clever (and Easy!) Crystal Ball

October 14, 2020 — We are always on the lookout for super-easy DIY Halloween creations that take an already astounding Halloween decoration display and make it even astoundinger. That’s where Heidi Ferguson, who lives with her family in Lehi, Utah, comes in. She put together a simple how-to video on making a crystal ball that is capable of flawlessly displaying Eerie Eyes and Halloween Moon digital decoration collections, among others.

AtmosFAN Modifies Mausoleum for Extreme Screams

October 8, 2020 — Like everyone, we love a good Halloween prop. But we extra love it when it has been modified to make it scarier and cooler! Jerry Morse of Port Charlotte, Florida, has created a simple and captivating mausoleum and then outfitted it with Hollusion Projection Material to ratchet-up the creepy factor.

AtmosFAN’s Display Has a Little Bit of Everything

September 30, 2020 — With a month to go before Halloween, this is the time we are always looking for more examples, more ideas, more clever ways to display more digital decorations. For that reason, we were delighted to receive this submission from Ian Moore of Surrey, British Columbia – it has a little bit of everything, all done to perfection.

AtmosFAN Builds a Perfect Way to Display ‘Halloween Window’

September 23, 2020 — We always get excited when we start seeing our newly released digital decorations in the wild. But that level of excitement approached stratospheric levels when we saw how Matt Howard and his family chose to display the Halloween Window Digital Decoration.

AtmosFANs Inspire Others with Clever ‘How-to’ Videos

September 17, 2020 — With Halloween just seven weeks away, we know there are so many of you building so many impressive displays. And there’s nothing better than inspiring people inspiring others. With that in mind, we thought we’d showcase just a few people that are making it their mission to inspire others through their own how-to videos. Who doesn’t need that as we approach the Halloween home stretch?

AtmosFAN Spellbinds with Captivating Prop Mirror

September 9, 2020 — There’s nothing better than a captivating prop that draws in viewers to get a closer look, asking themselves ‘how’d they do that’? That’s what Dave Trammell of South Jordan, Utah, built – a clever false mirror that displays the strange specters of Macabre Manor. If that weren’t enough, we really love how David’s mirror responds when people get too close!

AtmosFAN Creates Big Time Outdoor Display

September 2, 2020 — For the same reason we love drive-in movie screens, we love the sides of houses and garage doors. Why? They are two GIANT canvases on which to project digital decorations. That’s why we love what Michael Maus of Charlotte, North Carolina, is doing. He’s taking advantage of his largest spaces to create Halloween digital displays that aren’t just big – they’re next level big!
