With just over one week until November 28, we’re thinking Turkey – and lots of it! So, too, is Peter L. from Medford, New Jersey. He’s dressed up his home in its Thanksgiving best, thanks to some slick projection mapping software and AtmosFX’s Turkey Tomfoolery Decoration.
Projection mapping is a technique that transforms buildings and other objects into dynamic displays by precisely aligning projected images to match architectural features. For Peter, this means his home’s entire façade becomes canvas onto which he can display numerous Thanksgiving-themed decorations, including Tom, the comical turkey who stars in Turkey Tomfoolery. The decoration shows the playful bird attempting to hang decorations and racing about with infectious enthusiasm.
Using a powerful 4,200-lumen projector ensures his displays remain crisp and vibrant. The beauty of his setup is its versatility – after initially mapping his house’s features, Peter can easily switch between holiday themes throughout the year (even Groundhog Day), all of which he shares on his YouTube channel. “People enjoy my house projection for all occasions,” Peter tells us.
How impressive are the results? Just look at how the many graphics seem to interact with the actual architecture of Peter’s home, creating an illusion that brings the house to life. And who wouldn’t want an extra serving of that this Thanksgiving?
