With Halloween just over a month away, AtmosFAN Mary H. from Osakis, Minnesota, is already framing up some Halloween magic. With a dash of creativity and a touch of antiquity, she’s concocted a decoration that’s sure to raise eyebrows – and perhaps a few friendly spirits!
This time of year, we know that many decorators are busy in their basements or garages, crafting spooky props for their Halloween displays. We love them all! And we love them even more when they consist of older or repurposed items found around the house, or easily acquired at a thrift shop or hobby store.
Mary started with an antique frame, seeing it as the perfect way to showcase the Halloween Window Decoration. The frame was missing its glass, so Mary cut a piece of acrylic to fit the frame. Then, she positioned this revamped antique over a small-size flat screen TV, creating a seamless blend of old-world charm and modern digital wizardry. “The stained glass look is so classy,” she says enthusiastically.
We think so too! We can see a hauntingly beautiful scene with a skeleton emerging from behind a gravestone, surrounded by gnarled trees and a moonlit sky. The deep blues and purples of the decoration contrast beautifully with the ornate golden frame, creating an effect that’s both eerie and elegant. And as good as this looks, we know Halloween Window Decoration seamlessly blends 13 total unique Halloween stained-glass designs.
That Mary was able to create something so simple and captivating should not be too much of a surprise – on Instagram you can see some of her creative work at fairydustnpeppersacks. But even so, this is easily the type of project anyone can create in a few hours.
We love how this “antique” display fits perfectly into her existing Halloween decor. The framed decoration is flanked by an assortment of jack-o’-lanterns, bats and ghosts creating a cohesive and captivating Halloween vignette.
“I wanted to be able to view this in my home all season long,” Mary tells us. “I love how it looks while it is playing.”
Heck! Mary can look at her creation even longer than the Halloween season, if she chooses. AtmosFX has other stained-glass decorations for Christmas and Hanukkah that would also look great in this format. We might recommend replacing the jack-o-lanterns and bats with something more seasonally appropriate, though! 😉
No matter what time of year, Mary’s innovative use of Halloween Window Decoration showcases how AtmosFX Decorations can be adapted to suit any space or style. By thinking outside the box (or in this case, inside the frame), she’s created a decoration that’s not only a conversation starter but also a potential year-round decoration!
