Great Ways to Use ‘Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree 2’

For the savvy Halloween decorators it is a common sight. But for everyone else, the sight is decidedly uncommon – three cheery pumpkins, chatting away telling stories and singing songs. How could it be that three real pumpkins appear to be glowing brightly and behaving as if they were alive?!

Ryan Hughes placed the chatty gourds of Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree 2 front-and-center at the captivating pumpkin patch he constructed at his Glen Ridge, New Jersey, home. Read all about it at the AtmosFAN Hall of Fame.

Ever since AtmosFX released Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree Decoration Collection in 2013, the “Pumpkin Prop Mode” has become an essential centerpiece for so many Halloween displays. And for good reason – young or old, people love it!

With the release of Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree 2 Decoration Collection, there's a lot more to love. For starters, there are more songs and stories, just like like its predecessor. However, the decorations are longer than those in Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree. And for decorators that want to add a few scary (but not too scary) faces to your pumpkins – that's new with Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree 2, as well.

Perhaps the most important thing to remember is that the decorations in Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree blend seamlessly with Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree 2, so you can mix-and-match the stories and songs any way you like. That doubles the stories and songs in your decoration display!

UPDATE: With the release of Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree 3 in 2021, you now have three AtmosFX Decorations that blend seamlessly together – extending the run times of your display even further!

Don't forget there are tons of other ways you can also use Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree 2 to really wow a crowd. When displayed on a TV, screen or garage door, kids seem to be engrossed by the antics of the pumpkins – sometimes even singing along with them.

Pumpkin Prop Mode, and Then Some

First things first: If you have never projected onto pumpkins, you should. The hardest thing about it: not carving the pumpkins. We have some handy how-to videos that show you how to project onto pumpkins, but all you need is three pumpkins, a projector and Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree 1, 2 or 3. Simply set up the three pumpkins wherever the most people will see them, and then train your projector onto the gourds. You'll probably have to make a few simple adjustments, but soon you'll be making magic as three chatty pumpkins come alive.

Of course, this is only the beginning – there's so much more you can do! For example, remember that there is no reason Pumpkin Prop Mode needs to be utilized outside. We've seen terrific (and convincing) displays on countertops, bookshelves – even dining room centerpieces!

We've also seen really clever displays where the three Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree pumpkins are surrounded by multiple carved pumpkins – as if in a patch. That some of the pumpkins in the patch have come alive, while others have not? It really is a powerful effect, and it keeps people coming back to the display over and over again.

Remember, it Also Works on Walls and Windows

We touched on this above, but this might be the thing that most people forget – both Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree 1 & 2 can also be displayed on windows, walls, Hollusion Projection Material, and on TVs. No matter where you want to display it, either decoration is sure to captivate others.

Many people like to project the pumpkins on surfaces, such as a garage door, giving the decoration a larger-that-life display that it deserves. Paired with AtmoSonic Bluetooth Speaker by Philips (or another Bluetooth speaker) creates a drive-in theater effect, allowing many people to see and hear the pumpkins' playful banter. And, just as is the case when you are projecting on pumpkins, the scenes from Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree 1, 2 & 3 seamlessly blend together on-screen too, allowing you to mix a lot of content together.

Similarly, we've seen fans build a small stage or screen with Window Projection Material XL – think backyard movie night – and then back-projecting Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree 2 onto it. (This is essentially a Window Mode Display without the window!) Kids tend to congregate around it, watching and laughing over and over again. We’ve seen setups like these work well as part of huge Halloween displays, mixed in with other props, animatronics and AtmosFX Decorations. We’ve also seen them used indoors, as part of smaller kid-friendly Halloween gatherings.

Oh! And, of course, you can do the same on a TV without any pre-planning at all!

Solo Pumpkin Display, too

We love the give-and-take of the three gourds talking to each other, but some people want to project on a single pumpkin. You can do that, too. The Pumpkin Prop Mode offers a "solo" feature, perfect for adding a little surprise wherever you display needs it.

Another great thing about projecting on a pumpkin in "solo" mode – you can also mix-in projections from the Halloween Moon Decoration Collection. Halloween Moon also has a mode that was created for projecting onto a pumpkin, so it is easy to seamlessly mix-in some of those decorations, too, extending your display even longer.

Or, Ditch the Pumpkins Altogether

You don't have to project onto just pumpkins. Anything round will work – and better if it is orange. Balloons? Beach balls? Or, you can do what longtime friend of AtmosFX Nova Halloween did with the first Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree Decoration, and project onto other fruits and vegetables. Why not? The world is your … pumpkin!
