Since the My Valentine Decoration was first released, we’ve never tired of hearing of the ways our fans have used it to bring joy to their family and loved ones. Awash in red and pink, this one-of-a-kind decoration is a love letter to the season – with candy hearts, roses, Cupid, and more.
Seattle’s Evening Magazine television program highlights My Valentine at a local restaurant where they were hosting an event.
For those not familiar with My Valentine Decoration, think of it as an e-card on steroids. But unlike an e-card that can only be opened when you click on your phone or computer, this dynamic decoration can be displayed anywhere – a window, a wall, a TV – even the AtmosFX Decorating Disc XL. Truly, it can be displayed wherever your sweetheart is most likely to see it – and that will certainly create quite an impression!
So, what are some great ways to display this uniquely expressive decoration? Whether you seek to honor your spouse, family or friends, or just wish to spread the love this Valentine’s Day, we have some ideas for you.
Your Love is Big – Show it!
When your Valentine sweetheart arrives home from work, what better way to surprise them than by displaying My Valentine in the window as they arrive? With a projector and some Window Projection Material placed in the window, it’s easy. As they drive up to the house, it will be the first thing they see.
Of course, if you’re not seeking to create a surprise, we recommend not just displaying the decoration on February 14. Others want to feel the love, too! We recall a note from Rhonda, who played My Valentine in her front picture window for a full two weeks because her neighbor’s son was watching the display endlessly. Referring to Rhonda, the boy said: “Mommy, that is for me because (she) loves me!”
If the winter weather cooperates, another great way to display My Valentine is to bring your projector outside and display it directly onto your house. Surface projections are among the easiest ways to display any AtmosFX Decoration – all you need is a wall! Outdoors, that might mean the garage door (another great place to surprise your sweetie as they arrive home), or the side of your house. Make it as large as possible! Any surface is fair game, so long as your audience will see it.
Jeff Baird has created a variety of projection mapping displays featuring AtmosFX decorations.
Home is Where the Heart is
Indoors, surface projections on walls are a great way to decorate for Valentine’s Day dinners, parties or even dances. Just as you might on the outside of the house, find a wall where everyone congregates. We’ve seen a wall display of My Valentine used as a backdrop behind the DJ at a high school dance. Similarly, Seattle’s own Evening Magazine television program used a wall mode display of the My Valentine Decoration at a local restaurant where they were hosting an event.
My Valentine Decoration can also be displayed in Decorating Disc mode. The feature effectively crops the decoration as a circle, so that it crisply displays on the AtmosFX Decorating Disc XL. That comes in handy for anyone who would like to hang a portable and lightweight decoration wherever they need – in the window, for example, or maybe behind the bar at a Valentine’s Day party.
Lastly, don’t forget that My Valentine is also easily displayed on a TV, computer monitor or tablet. That’s another simple way to display the decoration to create a festive mood, whether you are hosting a group or having an intimate evening. For example, we’ve seen it displayed on a TV during a Valentine’s dinner with friends. We’ve also seen it displayed on a digital picture frame (tablets work too!), and placed on a countertop near the punchbowl.
All in all, there are more ways to display My Valentine Decoration than a Whitman sampler. The only trick is finding the ways that your friends and loved ones will appreciate the most!
