Great Ways to Use ‘Season of the Witch: More Witches’

Given the sunshine and long light-filled evenings, it may not seem like it is Halloween season. But once the witches come out, it’s official! And with AtmosFX’s first decoration of the 2024 Halloween season now released, Season of the Witch: More Witches Decoration Collection, there is no going back. And who’d want to? It is time to fully celebrate the Halloween season!

A companion to last year’s Season of the Witch, this decoration features the same gently scary old crone, who creates more mischief and casts additional spells. For those who enjoyed decorating with Season of the Witch, this new decoration gives you more material to work with.

But that’s not all. In Season of the Witch: More Witches, she does exactly that: She brings more witches with her! These sisters in sorcery are ready to cast their spells on your Halloween festivities – especially if you like decorating with props. Whether you’re hosting a spooky soirée or welcoming trick-or-treaters, these cackling crones are sure to bewitch your guests.

Let’s explore some bewitching ways to incorporate this magical decoration into your haunted home.

Bringing witches to life with the 3DFX Form

Halloween fans who really want to create a show-stopping display have been using the AtmosFX’s 3DFX Form for years. For those unfamiliar, this is a mannequin-size inflatable prop that, when you project onto it an AtmosFX Decoration in 3DFX Form Mode, seems to come to life. For years, fans have a particular fondness for projecting Witching Hour Decoration Collection onto a single 3DFX Form, and the playful ghosts of Boo Crew Decoration Collection when the three are grouped together.

For this reason, fans have been asking for more AtmosFX Decorations that are optimized for the 3DFX Form and – thanks to the Mad Geniuses in AtmosFX Developmental Dungeon – Season of the Witch: More Witches is, indeed, so optimized. That means if you set up a single 3DFX Form on your porch, the old hag will greet trick-or-treaters with a cackle – and express a desire to have them for lunch! This decoration is also set up for display on three 3DFX Forms at the same time. If one looks great – three is even more impressive! It makes for a stunning centerpiece in any decoration display as three witches stand together, reciting incantations and generally causing mischief … because that’s what witches do when they get together!

A new trick for an old crone: 3DFX Head Mode

Everyone knows that witches age differently than mortals, and most of them are as old as dirt. But just because they’re old, doesn’t mean they can’t come up with some new tricks! In this case, we’re talking about a new display mode called the 3DFX Head Mode. This new mode works very much like the 3DFX Form, but instead of an entire body on which to project, you project onto just the head. We are particularly fond of this Foam Male Head that we found at Michaels, but we know clever AtmosFANs will discover many viable options at craft and hobby stores. (The foam head we like best measures 8.8” x 6.2” x 10.3”  or 22.3cm x 15.7cm x 26.1cm.) The 3DFX Head Mode display from Season of the Witch: More Witches is optimized to turn that foam head into a dynamic digital face.

We can see creative Halloween fans building their own dummy witch bodies – perhaps flying on a broom or standing over a cauldron – and then projecting this new mode onto the face, making it appear to come to life. Or, with fishing line at the end of a dark hallway, try suspending the foam head. Then, when you project onto it, you’ll have a disembodied witch’s head that is sure to turn other people’s heads!

Triple the toil and trouble with Hollusion, windows and walls

Even though Season of the Witch: More Witches deservedly has the reputation as a decoration that will please those who like to project on props, it also looks amazing in more traditional ways. (Ha! Like AtmosFX Decorations are even remotely traditional! But you get our point.)For example, projecting on Hollusion Projection Material is a perfect way to ratchet-up the spookiness that is inherent in any witch display. Try hanging the material in a doorway or archway, and when the old crone casts her spells, it will seem even more magical. Hollusion Projection Material works great in outdoor displays, too. Drape it from a tree limb or from a garden archway. As night falls, the dark mesh becomes nearly invisible, it will look like the witch is appearing and disappearing into the night.

Of course, windows remain a classic and effective way to showcase AtmosFX Decorations, and Season of the Witch: More Witches is no exception. Place Window Projection Material in a prominent window, and watch the crowds gather as they are mesmerized by the sight of witches brewing potions and casting spells inside your home.

Don’t forget about wall projections, either! Transform an entire room or your garage door into a witch’s lair by projecting directly onto these surfaces. In the foreground, add some props like cauldrons, spell books, and strange ingredients to complete the scene. Then, the larger-than-life witches will dominate the space, creating an immersive experience for your guests. After all, the key to a captivating display is to make it feel immersive and interactive. In addition to props, the use of sound effects, fog machines, and strategic lighting to enhance the magical atmosphere. And don’t forget to crank up the volume – the witches’ incantations and cackles are half the fun!

Mixing and matching for maximum magic

Don’t be afraid to get creative by combining Season of the Witch: More Witches with other AtmosFX Decorations. An obvious example is pairing it with its predecessor: Season of the Witch. Instantly, you have tons more content! Or, if you are creating three witches with the 3DFX Forms, you might use another projector to display Phantasms Decoration Collection, or other ghostly collections, in the background to show off the witches’ supernatural summoning powers. That will create amazing depth that is sure to amaze.

Of course, another great combination would be to pair it with Witching Hour Decoration Collection. The witch in this AtmosFX classic is a bit more playful and family-friendly than the ones in both Season of the Witch decorations. But they certainly work well together, and for those who are leaning heavy into a witch theme from Halloween, this gives you much more content to work with.

No matter how you choose to use it, Season of the Witch: More Witches is sure to add a magical touch to your Halloween decor. With so many ways to display this decoration, your home is bound to be the talk of the neighborhood!
