Great Ways to Use ‘Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree’

It has been nearly 10 years since AtmosFX first released Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree Decoration Collection, and in every year since, it has been one of the most popular decorations for Halloween decorators around the globe. Why? We will start with the obvious. Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree sparked the imagination of so many Halloween decorators because it re-imagined what objects you could project. Projecting on pumpkins?! Who would have thought of that?!

John Wilson of Wauchula, Fla., uses a terrific Pumpkin Mode display to grab the attention of his audience – then surprises them with a sneaky Hollusion Mode display. Read about it at the AtmosFAN Hall of Fame.

But it isn’t only the pumpkins. Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree has remained intensely popular with Halloween decorators for other reasons, too – not the least of which being that these jabbering jack-o'-lanterns are funny! And they can sing, too.

This combination of humor and musicality – presented in a truly unique way – has made these garrulous gourds hugely popular with Halloween fans, young and old alike. In fact, since Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree was first released in 2013, it has been one of AtmosFX’s top sellers year after year, as well as the number-one requested sequel from fans. And the Mad Geniuses in the AtmosFX Developmental Dungeon delivered: Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree 2 was released in 2019, and Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree 3 in 2021.

Before we begin to describe the great ways to use Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree, it is important to remember that for anything we say about the original, it also is true for the sequels, Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree 2 & 3. That means no matter how you choose to display this decoration – on pumpkins, on walls, on windows – you can seamlessly add any other Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree decoration and not have to change a single thing. That means it is simple to double, even triple, the content you display!

With that said, let's look at the many great ways you can use the Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree Decoration in your Halloween display.

Project on Pumpkins

As we said earlier, the ability to project directly onto pumpkins has been one of the most important reasons why Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree has ignited such creativity in the minds of Halloween fans. After all, when you project this decoration onto one or three pumpkins, it makes it look as though those jack-o’-lanterns have come to life, singing songs and telling jokes.

We have posted many tutorials to show exactly how to project on pumpkins, and you can certainly find countless videos on YouTube, as well – just search “Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree.” Basically, there are two steps: 1. Choose one or three uncarved pumpkins and place them exactly where you want. 2. Project on them! (It’s that easy!)

Of course, there are other, aesthetic decisions to make. But that’s the fun! For example, many decorators put the Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree Pumpkin Mode Display front-and-center, creating a centerpiece for their entire Halloween decoration display. Some will place the pumpkins atop a pedestal, some on a hay bale. Others will mix the Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree pumpkins with other real jack-o'-lanterns, which in itself becomes a spectacle. No matter where you set it up, make sure you provide space for people to gather, because they assuredly will!

One last thing: Remember that projecting on pumpkins doesn’t mean that you must project, literally, on pumpkins. Anything round, large or small, works! We've seen crafty decorators project on artificial pumpkins, basketballs, exercise balls, golf balls, apples and oranges, garbage bags full of raked leaves – you name it!

Project on Windows and Walls

Sure, projecting on pumpkins gets all the headlines, but that doesn't mean that projecting Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree on windows and walls doesn’t also draw a crowd. After all, whether you are projecting on the garage door or your apartment window, they’re still telling the same corny jokes and singing the same charming songs!

Projecting on walls is probably the simplest way to display Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree. As we suggested above, garage doors are a common place to display the three chatty pumpkins, mostly because it is a large “canvas” on which to display them. (The driveway is also a large space for people to congregate.) Of course, any wall will work, both indoors and out.

If you wish to display Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree in your window, you'll need to cover it with Window Projection Material before you do. (This is true for any AtmosFX Decoration.) This semi-translucent material is essentially a giant screen that allows everyone outside your home to see the projection. But once you do, projecting the pumpkins big and bold is sure to make a statement.

Whether you are decorating on a wall or window, make sure to have some type of speaker system available so that everyone can hear the banter and sing along to the songs. A Bluetooth speaker system, like the AtmoSonic Bluetooth Speaker by Philips, is a strong option. Some decorators even broadcast the soundtrack on an FM transmitter so that people can hear everything in their cars.

Pumpkins on Your TV

Another good option for displaying Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree is to do so on your television, computer monitor or tablet. This is especially useful for children’s Halloween parties, where you can simply run the decoration on “loop” to give the kids something to watch between activities. Another option is to copy the decoration to your tablet, and place it near the trick-or-treat candy bowl – as kids come for the treats, they’ll stick around to see what those pumpkins have to say!

In the end, it really doesn’t matter which way you choose to display Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree – every option is a winner! And you will be too, when your neighbors acknowledge you as the best Halloween display on the block!
