In mid-April, AtmosFX started its first ever bracket-style tournament for our Halloween decorations to celebrate Halfway to Halloween. We structured it to let fans engage with us through our various social media channels to vote in each challenge and, by the end of the tournament, choose a favorite. With Halfway To Halloween here, it felt like the perfect time for an experiment like this.
The brackets were assigned in a random manner. This led to a few unbalanced match-ups, and a few surprisingly competitive brackets. We wouldn’t have expected Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree 2 to dominate our very popular Witching Hour decoration as much as it did (89% to 11%). Likewise, Bone Chillers surprised us by crushing the iconic UnLiving Portraits by a huge margin (92% to 8%). We also couldn’t have foreseen the Creepy Crawlies 2 vs. Halloween Monster Bash or the Trick ‘r Treat vs. Ghostly Apparitions 3 matches being so competitive (both decided by a margin of 48% to 52%).

In the end, the last two decorations standing were 2021’s new gourd on the block, Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree 3 and the OG (Original Gourd), the first Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree!
Despite a strong showing from the new kids, the first Jamboree pulled out to an early lead and never lost ground. Comments from fans suggest that contributing factors to Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree’s win were versatility and familiarity. And people do seem to love a classic!
