Before we set our sights on decorating for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s, let’s not forget there’s another important holiday – one that honors the men and women who have served in the United States armed forces – Veterans Day. As November 11 approaches, we have several great ideas on how to express our gratitude and appreciation.
Joshua Hargrove created this terrific decoration display for Independence Day with Celebrations America Decoration, but it could also easily be used for Veterans Day. Read more about it in the AtmosFAN Hall of Fame.
Many decorators already know of AtmosFX’s Celebrations America Decoration because they use it in their Independence Day displays. Of course, there are other patriotic holidays here in the United States that deserve similar treatment – Veterans Day foremost among them. All three of the individual decorations contained in the collection are perfect for honoring those who serve – “Stars & Stripes,” “Patriotic Fireworks” and “Waving Flag.”
Start with projecting in your window. After hanging Window Projection Material in a front-facing window, project any of the three individual decorations directly onto it. The dynamic red-white-and-blue display will allow all those who pass by to see your gratitude.
If you don’t wish to cover your entire window for the day, then you can hang the AtmosFX Decorating Disc XL in the window to create a similar effect. The circular portable screen will perfectly capture the projection from your projector and display it for all to see. You can also use it outside for a similar effect. All scenes in Celebrations America have been optimized for the Decorating Disc XL – meaning, they are formatted as a circle.
And in both cases, know that the Celebrations America includes reverse text and images so that, when back-projecting onto the window or Decorating Disc XL, those text and images will read correctly.
Another great way to show your appreciation is to project on a surface. This is the simplest way to display any AtmosFX Decoration – just shine your projector on anything, indoors or out. If you want to go big, project “Waving Flag” directly onto your garage door, even the side of your house! It will be awash in America’s colors.
Indoors, any wall will work. If you’re hosting a Veterans Day luncheon, shine Celebrations America on the wall above the buffet table – everyone will appreciate that. You can also display Celebrations America on any television, monitor or tablet, too. That’s a great use for an unused TV while guests are visiting. And for those who wish to create something special, copy the decoration to a digital picture frame and place it near the buffet.
In the end, there are no shortage of ways you can use Celebrations America to honor those who have served on Veterans Day. Large or small, indoors or out – it’s a great and easy way to say “Thank You!”
