Great Ways to Decorate for Mardi Gras

Once Christmas and New Year’s is over, it is tempting to think that we’ve entered into a barren wasteland of non-holidays. But with Valentine’s Day over and President’s Day coming up, what’s next?

Oh, how can we forget the day of pure revelry, Mardi Gras?!

That’s right, Fat Tuesday is coming soon – March 1, 2022. And while AtmosFX doesn’t offer an official Mardi Gras digital decoration, why should that stop you from celebrating the day?! Given the the unsuppressed imagination of AtmosFANs – plus the countless digital decorations available – there’s no reason you cannot decorate in a way that befits a truly legendary celebration.

Longtime AtmosFAN Zach Breaux is a great example. A resident of Metairie, Louisiana, he knows a thing or two about celebrating Mardi Gras. Last year, when the parades of carnival season were canceled due to COVID-19 precautions, area residents decided to dress-up their homes instead of parade floats. What is what we are talking about right here! You can get some great ideas on how to decorate for Mardi Gras in this article about Zach; You can also check out his Toil & Trouble DIY YouTube channel, too.

Decorating for Mardi Gras is as simple as finding the right AtmosFX Digital Decoration and the right place to display it. And assuming most of us don’t have a parade float readily available, your home is a great canvas on which to celebrate the day. Pick a window where everyone can see it, or maybe project a grand display on the side of your house or garage door.

Or, if you are having a party where people are gathering indoors, the following digital decorations displayed on a wall or TV, combined with typical Mardi Gras decorations, will take your celebration to another level.

So, what digital decorations are the best for celebrating Mardi Gras?

The obvious answer? Start with skeletons. Bone Chillers 1 & 2 Digital Decoration Collections both have playful scenes that feature skeletons playing music. The “Musical Skeletons” individual decoration from the first Bone Chillers features a band playing Dixieland-style jazz, which is perfect for the moment. But even those scenes that have the band playing other styles of music still work – just turn down the speaker on your projector and turn up the one on your stereo!

There are also many other AtmosFX Digital Decorations that feature dancers – sometimes monsters, sometimes ghosts. Either way, coupled with some revelatory New Orleans–style music on your speakers, they can help create a great mood. Consider Halloween Monster Bash or Halloween Zombie Bash Digital Decoration Collections for this – they bring a smile to everyone who encounters them, and usually a few dance steps!

Another option is the dancing ghosts that are a part of the “Family Unit” individual decoration from Macabre Manor Digital Decoration Collection. There’s a vibe here that’s a perfect fit if your Mardi Gras display has more of a Haunted Mansion feel, a la Disneyland.

Lastly, remember that the balloons, confetti and fireworks from Celebrations Party Time Digital Decoration can also fit right in there with beads, streamers and noisemakers of Mardi Gras.
