What is it about AtmosFANs that live in Las Vegas? It’s like some of the glitter and stardust that is so integral to the city rubs off on its residents – that’s certainly the case for Robert N. His spectacular Halloween display from 2022 has a whole lot of everything – an incredibly pleasing display of light, color … and AtmosFX Decorations! For those who have been following the AtmosFAN Hall of Fame, you’ll recognize the names of Las Vegas residents like James Johnson and his amazing Hollusion display. Then, of course, there is longtime AtmosFAN Lyle Coram. He’s been building multiple amazing displays throughout the years, like a fairytale bedroom for his daughter using Celebrations Party Time Decoration, making it appear that a Tyrannosaurus Rex had surrounded his house with Dinosaur Encounter Decoration, or the masterful decorations he made for a Halloween party.
Add Robert’s name to the list – his Halloween display, too, has that Las Vegas magic. So what makes it so special? Well, like any good magic trick, it’s all about the visuals.
Robert does a wonderful job using light throughout his display, alternating between light and dark spaces to create dramatic effect. The many skeletons, spiders and props stand out so well because they are purposefully lit — they draw the viewer’s attention. Then, in the shadows? That’s where the surprises lurk.
You’ll see ghosts from Ghostly Apparitions and its sequels materializing the window, as well as the strange family from Macabre Manor. On the walls, surface projections of Sinister Shadows Decoration create the effect that something, somewhere, is trying to escape from the grave.
“It’s the smash hit of the neighborhood,” Robert tells us. “Most are curious about Sinister Shadows on the wall – the projector is hidden in a plant – so it looks quite real.”
Of course, it’s not all scary. From the very opening of Robert’s video, you see a terrific pumpkin prop mode display featuring the three loquacious gourds from Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree. For good reason, they are most impactful when they are placed in a prominent location, where they can engage with all those who are drawn to the light and color of Robert’s Halloween display.
Which is kind of like what happens in Las Vegas, right? You get drawn in by all the spectacle – and once you are there, you become joyfully immersed! Great work, Robert!
