Magic by the Moonlight at AtmosFAN’s Home

On Halloween night, the forecast in Middlebury, Connecticut, already calls for a full moon with a chance of witches. That’s because AtmosFAN Dan H. has dialed it up! He’s brewed up a Halloween display that’s so enchanting, even the neighborhood black cats are doing double-takes.
Dan’s Halloween display is a great example of how AtmosFX Decorations can fit right in with other props and lights. The use of the crafty old crone from Witching Hour Decoration Collection in the window is a great example. “Instead of the picture window into our living room, I have a rear projection screen hanging with your decoration playing,” Dan tells us. “People love it!”

Indeed, the whole scene seems to have emerged straight out of a fairy tale. Perhaps it is stating the obvious, but with Witching Hour in what might otherwise be an unused window creates great depth and dynamism to Dan’s entire display, especially with so many cool “witches lair” props in the foreground. Who doesn’t love the self-stirring cauldron?!

It’s also worth noting that with two other AtmosFX witch-themed decoration collections, Season of the Witch and Season of the Witch: More Witches, if Dan wanted to add even more content to keep his neighbors entertained, he’s got options!Elsewhere, Dan does the same thing with a captivating projection of the Halloween Moon Decoration Collection. The effect is striking – a luminous full moon hangs in the darkness, its eerie blue glow illuminating the silhouette of a wolf howling at its radiance. Surrounded by gravestones and autumnal foliage, this ethereal orb casts an otherworldly ambiance over the entire scene.

“I wanted to get the full moon up high and large,” Dan says. “I got the idea to use one of those large reflectors they use for photography. They are light, fold up, and bright white on one side. That provided me with a 52-inch screen for the moon. Works great!”

It’s a great idea – and we always encourage Halloween designers to work with objects they already have, or have easy access to. But another good option would be to use AtmosFX’s Decorating Disc XL, which works exactly like Dan's photographic reflector. At 43-inches in diameter, it is slightly smaller than Dan’s creation, but you still get the same powerful effect.

No matter what tools he is using, it is clear that Dan has brewed up the perfect potion of props and AtmosFX Decorations. Great work!
