Great Ways to Display ‘Nightmares Decoration Collection’

It was only a matter of time before the Mad Geniuses of AtmosFX started exploring the dark confines of the subconscious. And now that we are here, who dares to close their eyes again?

Your neighbors and Halloween guests certainly won’t – and isn’t that why so many of us create elaborate Halloween parities and displays? To start the 2025 Halloween season off right, AtmosFX has released its most twisted collection of creatures with the Nightmares Decoration Collection, six grotesque entities that have clawed their way out of the darkest corners of the dreamscape to transform your Halloween display into a realm where reality and nightmare become indistinguishable.

Ready to plunge your neighborhood into sleepless nights? We’ve got some great ideas on how to best showcase these creatures of the dark!

Hollusion Horrors

While nearly every AtmosFX Decoration is optimized for Hollusion Mode Display, there are some where the results are nothing short of spectacular. Any of the four Ghostly Apparitions decoration collections are one example, and so is Phantasms. Another collection that is simply perfect for the Hollusion effect? Nightmares. The ability to make these grotesque creatures appear to materialize from thin air creates an experience that will haunt visitors long after Halloween night ends.

For those unfamiliar, Hollusion Projection Material is a gray, mesh-like material that fades into darkness when night falls. When you project onto it, it will look as though the creeps of Nightmares have appeared out of thin air. Place the material in the darkest corner of your yard, perhaps between overhanging trees, from a garden arbor, or in a shadowy alcove.

Inside, Hollusions look great too. Place the material at the end of a dark hallway or at the top of the stairs. And if you stretch Hollusion Projection Material across a doorway, you can make it look like Dollface (or any other of the Nightmares) have moved into your home and are keeping everyone up at night!

Wall-to-Wall Terror

For those who want to go big, projecting onto surfaces like walls, garage doors – even the entire side of your house –  is definitely the way to go.

Want to gross out the entire neighborhood? We think displaying the Abomination is perfect for this, as its ever-growing mass of bone and flesh can truly showcase its hideous scale when displayed larger than life. And when we are talking on the side of the house, that’s decidedly larger than life! One thing we know for sure: the gathering Halloween crowd will not be able to take their eyes off of it – even from down the street.

That said, know that indoor walls work equally well – especially for Halloween parties. The Bone Spider projected onto a large interior wall creates the perfect backdrop for those brave enough to enter your haunted home. Just be prepared for guests to constantly check over their shoulders.

TV and Tablet Terrors

We talk about going big, but don’t underestimate the power of smaller screens to create intimate scares. TVs, tablets and other small screens offer unique opportunities to bring these nightmares directly into the heads of your guests – the compact size makes encounters with characters like Smiley or Doll Face feel more personal and unsettling.

Set up tablets, unused phones or digital frames with the Nightmares Decoration Collection and place them throughout your Halloween party as “Nightmare Viewers.” Hide them in boxes or jack-o-lanterns, or other dark small spaces and make people peer into them — it’s a great way to get people to move about the house during a Halloween party.

Of course, don’t sleep on the TV display. It is super easy, and often the TV isn’t even being used during a Halloween party. Just display the Homunculus onto it (or any other Nightmares), and let it rip (pun intended).

Window Warnings

Among the easiest ways to display any AtmosFX Decoration is to transform your home or office windows into portals to another world. So why not take them to the darkest recesses of the human psyche? All you need is Window Projection Material and the Nightmares collection to create the illusion that your house has become infested with creatures from the darkest parts of someone’s subconscious.

Decorating Disc XL Displays

The AtmosFX Decorating Disc XL offers another versatile way to incorporate these nightmarish entities into your Halloween decor. This lightweight 43-inch in diameter projection surface can be hung anywhere to create floating nightmare portals.

Some decorators simply hang it in their window, creating what is essentially a Window Mode Display in a circular portion of their window. It’s easy, quick and effective. Others find that it is simply stunning when hanging in dark locations in the yard. Tree branches are excellent, especially when you display the Bone Spider. When hung in the tree, it will create the illusion of a strange spider descending from above.

No matter how you display these strange creatures, from Hollusion horrors to window warnings, from wall-to-wall terror to intimate tablet scares, the Nightmares Decoration Collection offers endless possibilities to transform your Halloween into a truly sleepless night. These six grotesque entities promise to create an experience that will linger in your guests’ minds long after Halloween is over.
