Adam G. of Farmington, Utah, looked at his garage and saw not one, not two, not three, but four different opportunities to deploy AtmosFX Decorations. The result is a layered haunted space that has visitors reaching for the Disneyland comparison – which, as Halloween compliments go, is as good as it gets.
Let’s take a tour. At the back of the garage, Hall of Haunts Decoration Collection is projected onto the wall, creating a sprawling haunted estate as the backdrop for everything else. In the foreground, Ghostly Apparitions Decoration Collection floats on Hollusion Projection Material – the transparent screen making the spirits appear to hover in mid-air. To the back left, a 3DFX Form displays Witching Hour Decoration Collection in Prop Mode, the old crone materializing in three dimensions. And on the table, a framed tablet displays UnLiving Portraits: Halloween Hosts Decoration Collection, its subject gazing out from among the candles and cobwebs.
Each technique does something the others can’t. The wall projection creates depth far beyond the confines of Adam’s garage. The Hollusion adds a ghostly layer in front of it – and because the eye focuses on the remarkable detail behind the Hollusion Projection Material, it nearly disappears. The 3DFX Form turns an inanimate object into something truly striking. And the framed tablet? It’s another super-easy way to get a visitor to look at what they think is a static picture frame … only to discover it is exactly not that!
Let’s not forget that there are a zillion other amazing things packed into Adam’s garage. Candles, cobwebs, atmospheric lighting, props – even what looks to be the Loch Ness Monster. Put it all together, and it creates a sense of depth that draws the eye deeper and deeper into the space – and that depth rewards closer inspection. And when a trick-or-treater does inspect more closely? That’s when the AtmosFX Decorations have their greatest impact.
“It’s been said the effects remind them of Disneyland,” Adam tells us. Who doesn’t want to hear that?!
With Halloween just a month away, Adam’s garage is a perfect reminder that sometimes the best haunted house on the block isn’t a house at all. Sometimes it’s the garage!
