When it was released in 2019, Yuletide Window Decoration was something of a departure for AtmosFX. Instead of a series of character-driven scenes, the designers re-imagined the brilliant colors and traditional stylings of stained glass. And, fitting for AtmosFX, the designers added a twist – this stained glass could move.
The simplicity and beauty of Yuletide Window made it one of AtmosFX’s most popular Christmas decorations of the year. And now, a year later, AtmosFX has released a second Christmas-themed stained glass display: Nativity Window Decoration. Like its predecessor, this single-scene display features glorious colors in beautiful animated stained glass. However, Nativity Window is more reverential and more worshipful, in that it fully embraces the spirit and meaning of Christmas.
So, how best to display the 10 unique animated designs displayed in Nativity Window? We have some ideas for you.
First, the Basics
But let’s start with the most obvious thing: Nativity Window looks great in windows, as it should with a name like that. No surprise, right? The decoration comes in both horizontal and vertical formats, so any window, large or small, can be transformed into stunning stained glass.
And just because it has “window” in the title doesn’t mean you cannot display it elsewhere. Just the opposite – we encourage it! Any wall or ceiling will look simply fantastic when bathed in the dynamic color and light of Nativity Window. TVs, computer monitors, and tablets too!
One more thing. No matter where you choose to display Nativity Window, remember that it can seamlessly be combined with Yuletide Window, effectively doubling your Christmas stained-glass display. And remember that any of the ideas listed in this article also hold true for ALL of AtmosFX’s stained glass–themed decorations, not simply Nativity Window.
So, how else might you use Nativity Window?
A Few Big Ideas
When we say that Nativity Window looks great on walls, we remind you that it is simply a place to start. Any large and open space is just begging for this colorful and dynamic display.
For instance, any wall in your home can instantly become awash in color. If you have an area in your home where many of your Christmas decorations are located, by projecting onto the wall immediately behind them will enhance those decorations greatly.
Ceilings and floors are great options, too. And if you are able to mount your projector up high, imagine how a white tablecloth might instantly become beautiful stained glass.
Projecting outdoors is a great option, too. A garage door is a magnificent and large window-shaped canvas that can quickly be converted into something that expresses your deepest Christmas sentiments. And if you have a projector that has a high lumen count – or you are familiar with projection-mapping software – why stop with the garage door? How about projecting Nativity Window onto your entire house?!
Smaller Displays, with Big Impact
For those who like more subtle decorations, and have old tablets or phones available, there are some great ways to stash those small screens to great effect. Digital picture frames, too. You’ll just need to copy Nativity Window onto your device and place it where it will have a great impact.
For instance, you could place a tablet behind the center of a holiday wreath (make sure it is secure!) and run Nativity Window to create a little surprise. Or, if you have a cluster of Christmas decorations on, say, a coffee table, put a frame around a tablet to create a magnificent centerpiece. Copying the decoration to a digital frame would work in the same way, too.
For those who build miniature Christmas villages for the holidays, stashing a phone in the window of the parish church would be a stained-glass show-stopper. (You can also do a similar small window projection setup with a pico projector for the same effect.) Or, if you have a TV or monitor, you could always set it up behind the Christmas village as part of the presentation.
Of course, there is no shortage of ways to display Nativity Window – large or small, you know it will be a great way to show others what the Christmas season means to you and your family.
