The creator behind the popular Super Simple DIY Projections YouTube channel has just released a step-by-step guide for creating this massive North Pole workshop display – and the results are absolutely striking.
Edgar has taken three popular AtmosFX decorations – Santa and Company, Santa’s Bakery, and Santa’s Mailroom decoration collections – and combined them to create a seamless multi-story North Pole workshop. Each level of his house becomes a different room where Ol’ St. Nick and his industrious elves are hard at work preparing for Christmas. The projection mapping creates the illusion that you can see straight through the house into the bustling workshop inside.
For those familiar with all the how-tos Edgar has posted on Super Simple DIY Projections, this jaw-dropping display isn’t much of a surprise – he’s created a lot of great videos. (We are particularly fond of his three giant pumpkins using the Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree decoration collections.) In this case, Edgar’s tutorial walks through the technical aspects of projection mapping, showing decorators how to align multiple decorations across a large surface to create this kind of cohesive, impressive display. It’s the kind of guidance that can help ambitious decorators take their displays to the next level.
