International Dinosaur Day is now in the rearview mirror, but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate it every day. And who doesn’t respect that?!
Bob Novotny certainly seems to think so. Bob has created a Jurassic Park–style electric fence at his Naperville, Ill., home – creating a shockingly fun effect with the T-Rex from Dinosaur Encounter Digital Decoration Collection.
What we love about this setup is that, at its most fundamental, it is simply a dressed-up way to hang a projection screen. The “electric wires,” metal structural supports, vegetation and warning signs are all decorations straight out of the Jurassic Park movies. As you can see from the video, Bob even added an alarm and electric zap when the T-Rex gets too close to the fence.
All in all, Bob says it took four days to build the frame, and another two days to set it up. We think all the extra effort and added detail really makes the display sing. Or, more appropriately, ROAR!
Apparently, Bob’s neighbors think so, too. “I get fan mail, and some people have pulled over in their cars when they see me working outside to thank me for the displays,” he tells us.
Bob’s dinosaur display is just another example that proves no matter what time of year it is, a clever digital decorator can always bring joy to the neighborhood. We love it, Bob – and we cannot wait to see what you come up with for Halloween!
