Among the eight different Halloween scenes at AtmosFAN Michael B.’s Halloween home in Anna, Texas, it was the quietly menacing burning corridor that stole the show. No monsters, no jump scares – just a weird candle-lit hallway that seems to be perpetually on fire, yet the flames never consume a thing.
As you can see above, Michael transformed an ordinary hallway into something otherworldly using Inferno Decoration Collection and Hollusion Projection Material. The corridor appears to be perpetually ablaze with flickering flames and countless candles, yet nothing ever burns up – creating an unsettling, supernatural atmosphere that’s both beautiful and slightly disturbing.
The effect works so well thanks to Michael’s great use of Hollusion Projection Material. Stretched tight in the back of the hallway, the material nearly disappears in the comparative darkness – especially thanks to all the detail placed in front of it. (Love the chandelier!) When Michael then projects Inferno onto the material, visitors can walk right up to the hallway, study it closely and still struggle to understand how flames can dance eternally in a hallway without any visible fire source.
Among Michael’s many different Halloween scenes throughout his home, this quiet burning hallway became the unexpected crowd favorite – proving that sometimes atmospheric effects can be more captivating than traditional monster displays.
“I get a lot of ‘how did you do that’ questions,” Michael tells us. “I don’t give away all my secrets, but I do let them know about AtmosFX because that is the easy part of the setup.”
