The neighbors around Bronson B.’s Louisville, Kentucky, home have stopped asking whether something is happening this Halloween. Now they just walk over to see what’s next. With a glowing yard, a shifting pumpkin patch, and a mysterious archway, it’s hard to blame them.
Let’s start with that archway. Bronson picked it up at Home Depot, then strung Hollusion Projection Material across the opening. In the dark, the material nearly disappears, which leaves a ghostly host from Halloween Hosts Decoration Collection standing in the middle of the yard as if he wandered out of the house to greet visitors. He’s polite. He’s also definitely not alive.
It’s a terrific Hollusion display. Part of the reason it is so effective is that Bronson surrounds the archway with plenty of color and charm: glowing pumpkins, blow-mold ghosts, and a warm mix of orange, red, and purple light. Those other items give the eye something else on which to focus – which makes the Hollusion effect even more powerful. The result? A cheerful scene with something unexpected tucked into the middle of it.
It’s hard to spot in the image above, but there’s more going on in the pumpkin patch, too. Bronson also projects Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree Decoration Collection onto three pumpkins – giving a little reward for those who dare to venture into his display. Bronson says he switches up the look of the graveyard and pumpkin patch so the display never gets stale.
That’s clearly paying off. “They love my Halloween decorations. I get everyone in the neighborhood walking to my house to watch what scene is going to be next,” Bronson tells us. “Since we moved in, the court gets more trick-or-treaters.”
Which probably means everybody on the street has had to buy a few more bags of candy, thanks to Bronson. We are certain they don’t mind!
