Most Americans think Halloween is our thing. Jacob S. of Rødovre, Copenhagen, would like a word. His Halloween display drew 600 kids in four hours – massive numbers for Denmark – by packing multiple Hollusion displays and projections into the limited space typical of European homes.

We always appreciate seeing how decorators celebrate Halloween in other countries, and Jacob’s display shows both the universal appeal of the holiday – plus some creative problem-solving required when working with smaller spaces. Jacob’s solution? Pack his yard with as many props and lights as possible – and make every projection count.
We love how Jacob built multiple large frames specifically to stretch all 5.5 feet by 9 feet of Hollusion Projection Material. This created striking transparent screens where he could project the towering pipe organ from Bone Chillers Decoration Collection. While the constructed frames meant that the Hollusion Projection Material wasn’t as invisible as it can sometimes be, that didn’t seem to be Jacob’s worry. Instead, he went BIG – creating a massive musician performing in mid-air, visible from both sides as neighborhood kids approached. Clearly, it was something these kids (and their parents) had never seen before.

Jacob continued the skeleton theme throughout his display, using both Bone Chillers and Bone Chillers 2 decoration collections, along with Phantasms Decoration Collection. Skeleton bands might be playing in one corner, while floating specters might be hovering elsewhere. All in all, it created layers of supernatural activity that was clearly a big hit with the neighborhood.
“It was a huge success and about 600 kids passed by in four hours,” Jacob tells us. “This is huge for Denmark.”
