When Mark W. of Lantana, Texas, first saw Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree 2, he knew exactly what to do: create pumpkin creatures. Not just animated pumpkins – full-bodied pumpkin people with robes, arms, and glowing jack-o’-lantern heads. His neighbors loved them, comparing the display to something from Disneyland.
Mark has a multitude of props and decorations around his Halloween home, and it’s clear the neighborhood loves them all. But his “pumpkin people” stand out as something special – three robed figures with uncarved pumpkins for heads, each displaying animated faces from Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree 2. The trio banters and tells jokes behind what appears to be a fruit stand, creating a scene that’s equal parts charming and unsettling.
The setup showcases one of the most popular and crowd-pleasing ways to display AtmosFX Decorations: Pumpkin Mode. The technique is straightforward – place uncarved pumpkins in a high-traffic area, and project any of the four AtmosFX Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree decorations onto it. In no time, the “pumpkin people” come to life!
We love how Mark took the concept further by building full bodies for his pumpkins. The robed figures, during the day, look like elaborate scarecrows. At night, when the projections activate, they become something else entirely.
We also appreciate Mark’s projector placement – hidden behind a hay bale and apple crate in front of the display. It’s a clever bit of staging that keeps the technical elements out of sight while fitting perfectly with the harvest theme.
“Everyone was a fan of my ‘pumpkin people.’ Some even compared it to a Disneyland prop,” Mark tells us. “When I first saw Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree, I knew I had to be the first one to create ‘pumpkin creatures.’”
