Summer Workshop Project: AtmosFAN Builds Dream Display

When most people think of window projections, they think of, uh, projecting onto windows. That makes sense – it is among the most popular ways to display AtmosFX Decorations. But let’s hear it for the overachievers! AtmosFAN Lee G. of Marietta, Georgia, decided that wasn’t nearly ambitious enough. He created a standalone toy workshop that takes Santa’s Workshop Decoration Collection from charming to absolutely one-of-a-kind.

What’s not to love? Lee has constructed a detailed workshop storefront complete with realistic architectural elements, festive awnings, wreaths, Christmas lights, and the little touches of snow here and there. Of course, the centerpiece is a large multi-paned window where Santa’s Workshop comes to life, showing Santa’s elves hard at work operating their present-wrapping machine.

Perhaps we’re stating the obvious, but what makes Lee’s display particularly inspiring is how it demonstrates that window displays don’t have to be limited to actual windows. By building his own “storefront,” Lee is also showcasing his own design and carpentry skills, which is every bit as compelling as the AtmosFX Decorations he is featuring.

Given that it’s Halfway to Christmas, Lee’s display is a great reminder that now’s the time to plan and build projects like this. With months to design, construct, and test your display, you’ll have everything perfected by the time the holiday season arrives. Lee set the bar pretty high! What do the rest of you got?!
