Multiple Display Modes at AtmosFAN’s Halloween Home

As Easter approaches, we’ve got bunnies, eggs and jellybeans on the brain – mostly. But we’ve also got pumpkins, skeletons and ghosts on the brain – Halloween is only eight months away, after all. So why not satisfy both brains with Jim Hanson’s Halloween display – think of it as a Halloween-themed egg hunt. How many different display modes can you find at his Lakeside, Calif., home?

Jim tells us that his Halloween display has become a neighborhood favorite – and we can see why. He has built a captivating cluster of Halloween decorations in a prominent space right in front of his home. It is as if this dense pack of decorations creates its own gravity, attracting kids from throughout the neighborhood. In fact, Jim says it brought more than 300 trick-or-treaters to his home on Halloween night.

Well lit and thoughtfully presented, there’s so much to see in this cluster of decorations – all of which are done well. Woven amongst the lights, props and animatronics, we can see an AtmosFX 3DFX Form in the back, with Macabre Manor Decoration projected onto it. And, as the centerpiece, another “prop mode” projection onto pumpkins: Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree Decoration. (Don’t miss the terrific gravestone projector blind Jim built to hide his projector and make the pumpkin-mode display work!)

We also see Eerie Eyes Decoration in the back, displayed on a tablet that is embedded into what is designed to look like cracked plaster on a tombstone. And, too, we see the aged crone of Witching Hour Decoration in the window, keeping a watchful eye over all!

The whole display looks great – a feast of Halloween decorations, all of which work really well together. Great work, Jim!
