Amy W. of Niagara Falls, Ontario, could have taken the easy route – buy some props, scatter them around, call it Halloween. Instead, she built a witch’s lair with so much detail that you’d think actual witches might show up asking for the name of her interior decorator. The secret? Layering projections, props, and color in ways that make every element work harder.

The centerpiece of Amy’s display is the witch’s lair – a carefully constructed scene with seemingly endless detail. The glowing potions in the medicine cabinet look fantastic, as do the hanging lanterns, pumpkins and paintings in the background. And the orange holiday lights at the base of the cauldron? Love it!
All of this detail sets the scene for Amy’s potion-producing witch, cleverly back-projected on Window Projection Material that covers a hole in the back of the structure. The old crone is from Season of the Witch: More Witches Decoration Collection, and she looks completely at home. The entire look of the display, to our minds, is nothing short of stunning.
No surprise, but Amy was not done. Elsewhere in her yard, Amy’s wooden jack-o-lanterns showcase yet another way to create a Pumpkin Mode display. No need for uncarved pumpkins here – the painted wooden props will last for years and deliver the same joyful effect. All four Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree decoration collections offer Pumpkin Mode displays (Amy uses two of those), but we love how Amy has found a lesser-known Pumpkin Mode option in the Halloween Moon Decoration Collection.

Attention to detail extends throughout the display – nothing feels random or tossed together. Every piece serves the overall theme. And for this reason, Amy’s home is an annual Halloween hit in the Niagara Falls community. Award-winning, even!
“We are an award winning house in our city’s Spooky Awards,” Amy tells us. “Every year we highlight our display with AtmosFX projection videos.”
