Christmas Haunts: Fear in the Frost Near You

At AtmosFX, we sometimes have a hard time letting Halloween go, even during the more cheerful winter holidays. Instead of dreaming of sugarplum fairies dancing in your head maybe you imagine: creepy carolers, perilous presents, and terrifying trees.

Christmastime 2017 Haunts

This was a tough season for some haunted attractions. A few were damaged or even closed by the recent hurricanes; one had their entire safe stolen from their building including the actor pay and ticket revenue. Somehow, we bet there is a curse attached to the burglar. So here are a few places definitely scarier than your in-laws this Christmas.*

Krampus: A Haunted Christmas (AZ, CO, IL, IN, OH, TN, TX)- Dec. 8th and 9th

Krampus: A Haunted Christmas looks like a nationwide event! It runs only December 8th and 9th (probably best to buy tickets in advance) but you can catch Krampus in Phoenix, Denver, Chicago, Seymour, Canton, Nashville and Austin

All Saints Lunatic Asylum (CA)- December 22nd and 23rd

Nearly 50 years ago, All Saints Lunatic Asylum lost funding and was forced to close its doors. Patients unable to leave, Doctors with nowhere to go, the once cutting edge mental health facility fell into obscurity. In October 2011, All Saints Lunatic Asylum (Home Haunted Attraction) re-opened its doors to the public for the first time. Were you the first of your friends to witness the horrors that lay within....? Enter If you dare!!!

Sinister Pointe (CA)- Dec. 22nd and 23rd

Sinister Pointe is revamping their Halloween attraction into a brand new "Choose your own adventure style", interactive, "Rude & Crude XMAS nightmare! Which includes plenty of inappropriate behavior, language and insults. If you are easily offended then this specific holiday event is NOT for you. This Event is NOT for children!"

If the above warning doesn't frighten off the faint of heart and the timid of taste, the show poster should impress how serious they are when they say, "rude and crude."

Factory of Fear (IL)- Dec. 8th and 9th

We couldn't find much information about the event on The Factory of Fear website, only that they are open in both December (8th, 9th) and February (9th, 10th) so the frights will keep going through the dark months.

Once inside guests make their way through a Victorian mansion saturated horrendous holiday decor. Then, they will venture through an industrial factory with demonic toys: Killer Teddy bears, maniac wooden soldiers and more!

After this attraction suffered a major burglary over Halloween, all of the Actors, Crew, and Cast are volunteering. They are now asking everyone to help scare up support for the Chamber of Horrors.
